Pembina HBC Post

1 - Colonel Hampden Clement Blamire Moody, of the Royal Engineers. Who was this Colonel Moody? According to the Dictionary of Canadian Biography, one of the many accomplishments of Moody was to be a part of a Commission appointed to investigate Canada's defenses against the United States. Part of that included examining the lines of communication leading to the west; I deduce that it was during this time period that Moody had occasion to be at Pembina to witness this scene, and record it for posterity in this sketch...
